Jim Wilson was a friend, neighbor and celebrated musician-composer whose varied music was played on Transitions Radio Magazine (TRM). Alan and Elizabeth played from his albums often and whenever a new CD was released, it was featured on TRM, because it was sure to be excellent.

Like many in his Santa Fe and Global Community, we were saddened to learn of his passing on July 17, 2012. The following Sunday, July 22, on TRM we dedicated our first set of music to Jim and his family with Elizabeth following Alan’s intro of Jim’s song, Can You Hear the Call, featuring Robert Mirabal, with a reading from the CD jacket of Jim’s Grammy Award Wining album, Sacred Ground: A Tribute to Mother Earth. That piece was written by Jim and David Carson. The audio for that Tribute Set is below (Jim Wilson Tribute TRM 072212.mp3).

And below that is the first interview- conversation segment, with music, that Alan and Jim recorded together as part of a 2006 Music Retrospective that start’s out with Jim tracing his life chronologically around his upbringing and music (Jim Wilson Retrospective 1 edit 080412.mp3). Enjoy!
