Neshama Carlebach is a leading-edge composer and musician in
Jewish music. She continues the legacy established by her renowned father Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach, who passed away in 1994. Reb Shlomo is known and revered for his compositions, music and storytelling style, with over 5,000 songs and 70 albums to his credit.
Neshama’s latest album, Higher & Higher, produced by Sojourn Records co-founder Mark Ambrosino, features The Green Pastures Baptist Church Choir. Singing the songs of her father, Neshama and the Choir bring a newfound depth and majesty to his songs. The music is not just Jewish, Gospel or World music. In its truest form, this is “soul” music. Sojourn Records has also released a live album of recordings made in 1973 of Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach titled Songs of Peace.

Neshama spoke with Alan and Levi about both new albums, her father, and the message of love and hope she shares through Carlebach music.
