Mukti and Rudra continue their dialogue on the Tao Te Ching translated by Stephen Mitchell, along with thoughts from A Thousand Names for Joy—Living in Harmony with the Way Things Are by Byron Katie with Stephen Mitchell. This discussion moves on to Chapter 6. Segment 1 asks, Who was Lao-tzu? The name means simply “the old master.” The protagonist of the Tao Te Ching is a master whose life is in perfect harmony. Segment 2 engages the Tao as it is called the great mother, because it gives birth to infinite worlds. In Segment 3 we hear a discussion of Byron Katie’s commentary on Chapter 6 of the Tao Te Ching. The Tao is empty, yet inexhaustible.
